Tier 500 Dynamic Power Factor Correction

The Tier 500 Dynamic Power Factor Correction features a patent pending controller that actively monitors power and engages the precise amount of correction in less than one cycle; its unique design not only responds within microseconds, it sequences and engages components in a way that minimizes stress on both the product and electrical network. There is no better product to increase your system capacity, lower your utility bills, improve your power quality and efficiency, and reduce your carbon footprint.

The 4 patent pending technologies in the STT Tier 500 PFC unit allow our product to offer the same amount of power factor correction as our competitors at 1/4 of the size. This allows our units to be retrofitted to areas where our competitors units will not fit, closer to disruptive loads, and can offer 4 times as much power factor correction in the same amount of space!

Our patent pending dynamic switching technology does not only greatly reduce the size of our units, but also the operating costs and generated heat. The Tier 500 PFC operates on only 40 Watts, compared to our competition that operates nearly 1,500 Watts, the Tier 500 PFC saves operating costs and further increases plant capacity, whereas the operating costs of our competitors often offsets their cost savings and capacity increases. This makes the payback on our unit only 1-4 years(based on your utility's reactive energy charge) in comparison to over 10 years payback for the competitors' units.

Not only is The STT Tier 500 PFC 1/4 the size, has 97% lower operating costs, and lower heat generation; but it also has faster and more efficient power monitoring and intelligent control than the competition. It has a sub-cycle dynamic load response time; zero cross; power quality tuning that eliminates harmonic distortion; reacts to any load condition or requirement; voltage stabilization; eliminates flicker, high in-rush and transients;  enables per mode correction; sense, component, breaker disconnect and auto disconnect.

The monitor, alarm, and alert feature allows you to monitor multiple installation points, access information remotely, and receive alerts electronically.

The system is continuously monitored, peaks events captured, power usage and quality is tracked, and has a settable threshold for alarm, alert, and site ID.

These advanced features built into our units completely eliminates the need for expensive and inconvenient on-site power audits.

We will tailor fit a Dynamic Power Factor Correction unit to your facility's unique needs. Please contact the factory or your regional Southern Tier Technologies representative for a custom product request.
