The STT Tier 450 Panel Extender has a Tier 450 surge module, with a Wire Lead or Terminal Block, Mounted inside a NEMA 1 Steel enclosure. The visual status indication is made viewable from the cover, and has our watertight overlay attached. NEMA 1 Enclosures are not rated water tight due to the wiring punch-outs, but the SPD module inside of the Panel Extender is in a NEMA 4X enclosure. This unit is also available as a Flush Mount Kit, with a stainless steel faceplate, meant to be recessed into walls and cabinets.

Its thermally protective, and arc extinguishing, design has a significant advantage when subjected to abnormal over-voltage and high fault current.

 

The multiple MOV technology allows for the continuation of protection even after a module failure (indicated by our dual color LEDs), giving critical time, under reduced protection, for a repair or replacement (This is covered by our 10 year warranty).

This unit has a NEMA 1 outer enclosure with wiring punch-outs for the panel extender, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure for the SPD inside.

 

This non-Modular SPD has models that range from 50kA to 150kA per mode.

 

 You may select the UL 1449 location, Type 2 is the default, and most common selection. (If you are unsure of the UL 1449 selection you need, please contact us, we will be happy to help.)

 

Wire Lead models have 5 feet of #10AWG wire leads.

Terminal Block models take wire from #10AWG to 2/0

 

 All units come with form “C” remote contacts, two color LED indication, and an audible alarm. Surge counter is optional.
