The Tier 460 Line Cord Receptacle Motor Surge Protection Shunt Trip Controller Device will protect a motor, or an entire system, from power quality events. It runs an onboard surge protection device in parallel with an onboard shunt trip controller. The shunt trip controller will send a signal, at predetermined levels, to a shunt trip breaker located on a panel, or at the system or motor, and force it to disconnect the load. Please note, shunt trips require a manual reset after a disconnection event.
The onboard SPD remains online while the load is disconnected.
Available for 120V or 240V breakers.
The 460 SPD family is the ideal solution for protecting industrial systems, motors, and equipment from the damaging effects of transients, phase loss, voltage sags and swells.
The 460 is available with a contactor restart option or a shunt -trip controller
The 460 Motor Surge Protection Contactor Restart features the industry's most advanced metal oxide varistor (MOV) technology.
Its thermally protective, and arc extinguishing, design has a significant advantage when subjected to abnormal over-voltage and high fault current.
The multiple MOV technology allows for the continuation of protection even after a module failure (indicated by our dual color LEDs), giving critical time, under reduced protection, for a repair or replacement (This is covered by our 10 year warranty).
Transient impulses can significantly impact your facility’s power quality, easily disrupting or damaging your process or equipment. While its important to protect against high-energy events, a more frequent, yet often overlooked power quality concern is the damage caused by a phase loss, a temporary voltage sag or a voltage swell condition. Disconnecting your sensitive loads during these longer duration power quality events is the easiest way to safeguard important equipment.

We will be happy to accommodate your needs.
